No programs can be executed after deinstalling Virtual CD.
Under rare circumstances a problem with the deinstallation of Virtual CD in connection with another installed program might occur. No programs can be executed after deinstalling Virtual CD.
Windows cannot be recovered without a backup!
Please install the last Virtual CD version or update your
Virtual CD installation before uninstalling the
software. Otherwise there may be a loss of data!
Background information: A key named "{" in
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT causes the problem. This key is not created by Virtual CD, but
it is a legitimate character. As soon as the deinstallation routine reaches this
key, the deinstallation gets out of place and, instead of only removing the
Virtual CD specific entries, it deletes the entire contents of
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT. Microsoft has confirmed this problem!
