The Management Console does'nt start anymore (NetMan 3 / NetMan Desktop Manager).
You are not able to start any program out of the NetMan Toolbox.
Error: The NetMan Desktop Client starts as usual and creates the shortcut for the NetMan Toolbox, which can be started without any problem.
On double-clicking the Management Console icon nothing happens.
The Trace Monitor shows: "NMAppInfoDll : Init NMAppInfo.dll startCannot find 'NMHome' in environment".
The Environment Monitor shows only a few variables in the H+H Environment section.
Solution: Please check whether there is a nmenv.dll in %NMHome%\System\Bin and delete this DLL (this DLL is not created by the setup in this folder!).
This problem is caused by the order programs look for required DLLs:
- the program folder
- %WinSysDir%
- the working directory
Only a few NetMan program initialize the NetMan environment, e.g. the NetMan Desktop Client. The environment is loaded and temporarily saved by the %NMCHome%\Bin\nmenv.dll.
The program directory of the Management Console and other NetMan programs is %NMHome%\System\Bin. A nmenv.dll within this folder cannot load the environment, but will be used for the start of NetMan programs as programs look for their DLLs in the program directory first (see above).
A similar problem may be caused if the NetMan Desktop Client is added to the Data Execution Prevention (DEP).
