The Virtual CD - CD Management hangs on start.
The Virtual CD - CD Management hangs on start und has to be ended over the task manager. Even the whole OS may hang and has to be reset.

This phenomenon has been obeserved exclusively in connection with the Intel Matrix Storage Manager. After installation of a newer chipset driver Virtual CD starts without any problems.

Hints:

  • Several customers report problems with version 8.7.0.1007; version 8.6.0.1007 seems to work better. There are no known problems with version 7.5.0.1017 or 8.8.0.1009.
  • The Event Log may show the following messages:
    • "iaStor.sys: iaStor0, did not respond within timeout period"
    • "The device, \Device\Ide\iaStor0, did not respond within the timeout period."
