Error message 'The client could not connect to the remote computer.'
Opening a session over the NetMan web interface HTML-View gives after a while the following error message instead: "The message of the embedded Microsoft RDP Client is: The client could not connect to the remote computer."
There are the following possible reasons for this error:
- Terminal services are not installed on the server which ought to start the session.
- In the Terminal Services Configuration under "Server Settings" the setting "Restrict each user to one session" is set to "Yes".
- The NetMan server has a private IP address. This IP address is shown in the NetMan Webservices Settings -> Terminal Servers -> Load Balancing behind the server name. For access on the server from outside you need to enter an official IP address as "alternate address". In NDM v4.5 it is possible to enter up to 4 official IP addresses.
