Error messages on the installation of a Virtual CD Update or the deinstallation of Virtual CD
On the installation of a Virtual CD Update (e.g. from version 9.2.0.0 to 9.2.0.1) or the deinstallation you get the error message "A Virtual CD v9 Edition has been found on this computer. Closing down setup." or
"The setup has detected that no version of Virtual CD v9 is installed. The update requires that a previous version of the application be installed."
This error messages mean that the installation of the (full) setup has not been finalized correctly: the InstallShield registration is missing.
In this case please first of all try to install the full setup again into the same directory and then try to update or remove Virtual CD.
If this does not work, please try the corresponding uninstallers. After the deinstallation please reinstall Virtual CD anew if desired and make sure that the setup finalizes correctly. Then you may want to start the update.
